Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical assessments to patients undergoing surgery, identifying potential risks and developing strategies to mitigate them.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments of patients undergoing surgery, including history taking and physical examination
  • Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, as required, to inform clinical decision-making
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to ensure patients are prepared for and fit for surgery
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes

Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with current registration with the NMC
  • Substantial post-registration experience in the relevant acute care specialty
  • Completed specialist Trust internal education and competencies, or equivalent experience
  • Completed Level 6/7 Accredited History Taking and Physical Assessment course, or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
