We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic physiologist to come and join our friendly, patient focused team here at Warwick.

This is an exciting opportunity to come and join our expanding team as new services and facilities are being developed.

We already have an established device service, providing brady and complex device implants and follow up, including S-ICD and HIS pacing. Weekly MDT meetings and a commitment to training which provides a good environment to develop further knowledge and skills.

As a family friendly department, we are able to offer this position as a full-time or part time role. We are keen on flexible working to include working from home or weekend working, if this is desirable.

To provide clinical leadership in cardiac rhythm management service including remote monitoring services, working alongside other physiologist leads to ensure delivery of a quality clinical service.

The role involves supervision and training of junior members of the team, and wider training of other staff groups as required.

You will be expected to refresh and extend your own clinical skills and partake in service development and research within the trust.

Working over South Warwickshire NHS foundation trust, predominantly based at the Warwick site.

Clinical/Technical Duties

To participate in the provision of the cardiac rhythm management including remote monitoring service and technical invasive cardiology service and assist during the full range of cardiac procedures undertaken within the angiography suite.

To maintain standards of technical competency in the provision of all technical cardiac procedures (invasive and non-invasive).

To assist with the efficient running of the technical service by prioritising the daily workload where appropriate.

To effectively, promptly, and professionally respond to cardiac/life-threatening emergency situations maintaining control and requesting assistance as necessary.

To be responsible for identifying equipment faults, and directly resolve fault issues by reporting them in a timely manner.

To provide first line interpretation and full technical reports of individual tests performed whilst reviewing/assisting with the reporting of studies performed by junior staff members.

To remain up to date with latest trends in clinical physiology translating these into practice and transferring this knowledge to staff within one’s area of responsibility. To assist with research studies as required.

To ensure all patients receive appropriate and individualised care.

To undertake service provision and/or training in other areas of Clinical Physiology, as required.

Training, Teaching and Research Responsibilities

Regular participation with MDT, cardiology research, performing clinical trials, audit and equipment testing.

Involvement with the training of junior team and other staff members.

Support in the training of internal and external students pursuing a career in Cardiology.

Commitment to continual professional development through self-directed learning as well as relevant courses and qualifications.

Develop areas of interest within the department.

Participate in the Trust appraisal process and personal reviews and work to achieve agreed set objectives.

Care for Patients and/or Service Users

Ensure all equipment is maintained and calibrated to provide accurate results and patient safety at all times, taking appropriate action to rectify any faults.

Interact with both patients and staff in a professional and courteous manner at all times.

Ensure that all Trust standards are maintained and monitored to improve the quality of care to all who come into contact with services provided by South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust.

Actively maintain a safe and clean working environment.

Work independently and as part of a team supporting patients, colleagues and other professionals in the delivery of care.
