As our Dexa Practice Educator you will work closely with the Dexa teams in all five of our member Trusts, supporting the training and development of staff undertaking the scanning, ensuring high standards of patient care and consistent image quality.

Ideally you will have completed the Royal Osteoporosis Society National Training Scheme for Bone Densitometry and /or have significant clinical expertise in scanning of patients which you will use to support the Trust teams to develop and enhance their practice.

The role is fixed-term for 12 months, or a secondment from your current role.

The post holder will be required to work flexibly to support the Dexa service within clinics across all five Network Trusts and on several sites. This will include regular travel to the different trust locations and working with different teams in different environments on a regular basis. Travel costs will be reimbursed.

**Clinical**: To maintain high standards of care by personal example and conduct, and to be a credible and competent practitioner within the clinical area. This must be in accordance with HCPC/NMC / relevant professional body Code of Professional Conduct and work within limits of competence.

**Educational responsibilities**: To coordinate the delivery of practical Dexa training for students and trainees to ensure a continuous workforce provision which is of high quality. The post holder will work with other members of the team, the wider professional workforce, key stakeholders and HEI personnel, where appropriate, to ensure practical and theoretical standards are met.

To assist with inductions and learning programmes for newly qualified and newly recruited staff.

To ensure that feedback is provided by staff on training activities and collating this information.

To liaise with appropriate inter-professional representatives to ensure educational provision is utilized effectively and is appropriate.

Providing direct clinical supervision and constructive feedback to a multi-professional cohort of Dexa learners and (where appropriate to do so) existing qualified Dexa staff to support post qualification development.

Developing a Dexa competency passport that is shared across the network.
