This is the Team Leader (Manager) role for the team. It manages the Principal Application Support Analysts, and the Helpdesk Team Lead. This role represents the interests of the business, and our citizens at user forums and in contract meetings.
The team is currently undergoing some transformation, and will likely take on some additional responsibilities and staff in this financial year, so support to that process, and those involved will be crucial.
We also have a major system upgrade across all modules to execute, so existing knowledge of the products is critical to the successful onboarding of the role.
There is a lot of latitude to suggest enhancements and expansion opportunities of the SystemC products, as well as in-house developed automation initiatives in streamlining processes across social care and education.
**About the role**
As the Team Leader, you’ll play a crucial role in shaping the future of our Social Care & Education Applications Team. Here’s what you’ll be responsible for:
***Leadership and Direction**:
- Provide guidance and direction to staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Set clear team objectives and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Be the primary escalation point for team members, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
***Resource Management**:
- Effectively manage resources, maximizing utilization while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
- Identify skill gaps and plan training to enhance team competence.
- Maintain optimal staffing levels to meet operational commitments
***Quality Assurance and Improvement**:
- Collaborate with colleagues to exceed OLA, KPI, and customer satisfaction targets.
- Drive efficiency and cost-effectiveness while maintaining service excellence.
***System Governance and Enhancement**:
- Ensure system integrity and compliance with legal and policy requirements.
- Collaborate with system users to pursue enhancements that keep our systems fit for purpose.
- Oversee improvement projects to enhance service delivery.
- Ensure that appropriate priority and level of support is given to each system to enable its successful operation.
**Financial Management**:
- Manage the team budget, forecasting accurately to minimize variances.
- Report key metrics to senior management promptly and accurately.
- Innovation and Service Excellence:
- Proactively seek service and system improvements which lead to time/cost saving within area of influence.
**About you**
Essential:
- Strong leadership skills: The ability to lead and manage a team effectively, including experience of managing formal HR staff processes
- Communication and effective stakeholder management
- Familiarity with DevOps practices
- Deep knowledge of the tools, techniques and processes involved in deploying and maintaining System C products
- Knowledge of technical architecture required for System C products
Desirable:
- Value stream mapping capabilities
- Qualification: ITIL 4
- Strategic leadership experience
- Conflict Resolution Skills: Dealing with conflict professionally and constructively.
- Experience of robust contract management
