Payroll Officer

You will be responsible for the payroll for Encore, RMC and subsidiary businesses. You will work closely with a number of departments to ensure that the payroll is processed on time, effectively and accurately. This role requires great attention to detail and an ability to communicate internally and externally with a number of different stakeholders. Assisting the finance team with other adhoc tasks will also form part of the role.

**What you'll do**:
Working alongside the current financial accounting team, the key responsibilities include:

- Processing of payroll for all associated companies
- Dealing with changes i.e. starters, leavers, SPP, SMP etc.
- Creation of the payroll journal
- Data transfer and manipulation from Sage to Excel
- Pension administration including data upload and liaising with our provider
- Dealing with monthly submission queries
- Processing and chasing timesheets
- Other adhoc finance team duties
- Other general administrative duties

**Qualifications**
- Degree in a relevant field is desirable, but not required.

**Experience**
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in payroll
- A background in a finance role such as bookkeeping is also desirable but not required

**Skills**
- IT literate - strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Sage Payroll is desirable
- Experience of pension administration and auto-enrolment is desirable
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organisational, project and time management skills
- Ability to work autonomously and can manage own workload
