**Job summary**:
University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust has a MAT Leave cover fixed term vacancy for a qualified professional Librarian, with Health library literacy searching skills and training. This is for more than one post, and would be ideal for someone looking to work flexibly.

**Main duties, tasks & skills required**:
You will also have experience in delivering training online for group and one to one. Have worked on developing e-learning and supporting selecting online health libraries content.

You will be qualified librarian with or working towards your Chartership, with experience or knowledge of NHS Health libraries. Support is provided to enable progression with CILIP Chartership. Previous library experience is essential. Competence in MS OFFICE is also needed.

The new post-holder will have the opportunity to network with other local library colleagues within the Trust as well as the 20 libraries within the BASE patch [covering Birmingham, Solihull and the Black Country]. They will also be collaboration with the new Midlands wide HeLM consortium.

**Qualifications**:
**Essential**:

- Educated to degree level
- Degree or postgraduate diploma in Library and Information Science

**Desirable**:

- CILIP Chartered librarian status

**Experience**:
**Essential**:

- At least two years' experience of literature searching in the health sector
- Advanced literature search skills
- Well-developed IT skills
- Expert knowledge of medical databases
- Knowledge of evidence-based practice
- Knowledge of NHS electronic resources
- Knowledge of copyright and data protection legislation
- High level of interpersonal & communication skills
- Presentation skills
- Experience of searching specialist databases

**Desirable**:

- Experience of delivering training sessions and/or presentations
- Awareness of the principles of critical appraisal in healthcare research
- Good knowledge of copyright and data protection legislation relating to libraries
