**HR Staff Relations & Welfare Officer**
The Friars is seeking a part time **HR Staff Relations & Welfare Officer** to provide an effective and efficient HR service.
**Job Purpose**: To be part of the team, providing a specialist, effective staff welfare service and a confidential counselling and advisory support for all staff.
You will be the “go to” person and a point of contact for issues relating to the wellbeing of staff, with the aim of fostering positive experience and relationships within the organisation.
You will need excellent communication skills as you will be required to work closely with recruiting managers. Your ability to carry out tasks with a customer focussed approach and organise your own workload whilst working towards tight deadlines are all skills required to succeed in this role.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the Trading Operations Managers on all matters HR including staff selection, recruitment, staff training and leavers.
- Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries.
- This role has a strong focus on human resources and **staff welfare,** and you must be able to contribute to the development and implementation of policy, procedures and arrangements that have the potential to impact on the wellbeing of staff.
- Support managers with all aspects of staff related issues,
- Advise and support managers with disciplinary and grievance matters. Act as a key point of contact for staff in relation to any welfare concerns.
- Assist with coordination of performance management reviews.
- Coordinate training programs and maintain training records.
- Add all holidays to online system and track allowances.
- Support managers to deal with all sickness and absence monitoring.
- In conjunction with managers, create end of probation letters and issue to staff.
- Support employees with efficient problem-solving when any human resources issues arise.
- Conduct and analyse exit interviews and make actionable recommendations based on data.
- Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions according to HR objectives.
- Coordinate staff satisfaction surveys and give actionable insights to improve staff experience.
- Liaise with our external legal advisers as and when required.
- Other tasks and responsibilities as required.
Previous experience of working within an HR Department is essential. To be successful in this role you will be educated to a degree level and must be CIPD qualified or working toward it.
**Required Skills and Attributes**
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
The ability to work quickly, accurately, and discretely, using an organised approach and with excellent attention to detail.
Relevant experience in providing welfare advice.
Self-motivated, able to work under pressure and exercise clear judgement.
Excellent interpersonal/communication and collaboration skills.
3 + years’ experience as an HR Staff Relations & Welfare Officer or related position.
Working knowledge of HR functions and best practices.
Knowledge of employment law and human resources responsibilities.
Confidence to manage various workloads and deadlines.
Good team worker but able to work autonomously.
Negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Ability to build and maintain excellent and credible relationships with managers and staff, ensuring confidentiality at all times.
**Job Type**: Part Time - 15 hours (7.5 hours over 2 days **or** 9am -2pm over 3 days a week)
