**Salary: £17,568 to 18,919 per annum, dependant upon experience**

**Main Purpose of the Job**:
Reporting to the Employee Engagement & Volunteering Manager you will support the delivery and expansion of the volunteering programme at RBLI and work with managers to identify volunteering opportunities across RBLI that are meaningful and that enhance RBLI’s activities.

You will need to design and implement campaigns to attract volunteers to fulfil identified volunteering activities and support managers to monitor, motivate, manage and retain volunteers, ensuring both RBLI and the volunteers benefit from volunteer activities and contribution.

**Overview of the Role & Team**:
The Volunteer Coordinator role, which enables the provision of the services of volunteers across the organisation, sits within the People and Culture Division of RBLI and reports to the Employee Engagement and Volunteering Manager. The People and Culture team consists of the Director of People and Culture, Senior HR Officer, two HR Officers, Senior HR Administrator, Recruitment and HR Administrator, Recruitment and HR Assistant, the Employee Engagement and Volunteering Manager and Volunteer Coordinator.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Volunteer Delivery
- Attract and recruit volunteers using appropriate and effective methods.
- Liaise with departments to establish their volunteer needs.
- Keep up to date with projects across the organisation and suggest where volunteers can support.
- Generate appropriate volunteering opportunities.
- Appropriately match volunteers to RBLI activities.
- Create and implement appropriate volunteer engagement techniques.
- Ensure volunteer has received appropriate training and security checks including right to volunteer in the UK and DBS before being placed in volunteer role.
- Ensure a full induction is carried out with new volunteer starters and all requisite training and paperwork is completed before the volunteer begins any volunteering activity
- Management and development of the volunteer nomination scheme (Volunteer of the month and Volunteer of the Year)
- Develop and manage corporate volunteering partnerships

People Management
- Offer advice and guidance to all existing and potential volunteers and provide a thorough induction on joining RBLI, including any essential training
- Monitor and review the progress of new volunteers and encourage volunteers in their development
- Support vulnerable volunteers to sustain fulfilling and safe volunteering activities
- Liaise with relevant organisations to facilitate Corporate volunteering opportunities and activities
- Support managers to monitor, motivate and retain their volunteers, including delivering training briefs and workshops

Administration
- Action all volunteer related administration, effectively and efficiently including:

- Recruitment and ongoing administration of volunteers, including references and DBS checks
- Volunteer reviews and exit questionnaires
- Volunteer monitoring data, including relevant database management

Communications & Reporting
- Provide an active communication link between departments and volunteers
- Provide line manager and key internal stakeholders with relevant management information in relation to volunteer activity KPIs
- Capture all volunteer activity measures

Marketing & Promotion
- Monitor and keep up to date the RBLI volunteering website page and run social media campaigns to promote RBLI’s Volunteering Programme where appropriate
- Be the internal volunteer champion and promote volunteers internally and externally through recruitment drives, marketing and profile raising
- Celebrate volunteering by implementing appropriate recognition techniques
- Attend internal and external meetings and events that could promote/attract volunteers.
- Network with other charities, local businesses and organisations.

General Responsibilities:

- Keep up to date with the volunteer sector industry and best practice approaches to volunteer involvement
- Maintain all volunteer personnel data private and confidential, in line with company Data Protection policies
- Embrace and live the RBLI values - Integrity, Motivated, People First, Accountable, Community and Teamwork = IMPACT
- Comply with all Health & Safety requirements, including carrying out risk assessments
- Adhere to all RBLI policies and procedures
- Undertake any relevant training and development required for the role
- Undertake any other duties as directed by the Employee Engagement and Volunteering Manager that reasonably falls within the scope of the role

**Working Environment**:

- This role will be office based, with some external travel required
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required for which time off in lieu will be given

- A good basic level of education with a minimum of grade C/level 5 or equivalent in
