Purchasing Administrator

**Swift Placements** are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known, sector leading client to join their business as a **Purchasing Administrator. ** Our client supply to the Food Service, fast food, and wholesale sectors across the UK - operating as a national wholesale and Food Service distribution business.
**Responsibilities**
- Maintenance of product files.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure advantageous agreements.
- Maintain positive relationships with existing suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues that arise.
- Generate and process purchase orders in an accurate and timely manner.
- Work with other departments within the business to assess and confirm purchasing needs.
- Maintain accurate and up to date records.
- Prepare and distribute purchasing reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
**Hours of Work**:Monday - Friday, 42.5 hours per week, 40 hours paid, Flexible start and finish times between the hours of 08:00am - 19:00pm**.**
- Previous experience within a purchasing and or procurement role is essential.
- Excellent communication, written and verbal skills.
- be comfortable negotiating prices and challenging suppliers.
- Ability to use Microsoft Excel to an intermediate or advanced level.
- Ability to follow instructions as well as use own initiative
- strong organisation skills.
- strong attention to detail and accuracy particularly at the point of data input.
- Knowledge of SAP is desirable.
