The Supported Engagement Programmes at Somerville House is a developing department created to engage and support young people aged 16-24 to access education. Students on programmes present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs/SEND. They have historically missed periods of schooling, have an Education, Health and Care Plan and/or are long term NEET. Students are often referred to these courses by professional bodies such as Social Worker, YOT workers or the Local Authority.

We are seeking an organised and proactive Attendance, Data and Outreach Coordinator to join our dynamic team in the Supported Engagement department. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting our young people to attend college, supporting their success and progression. Join our dedicated team and make a significant difference in the lives of marginalised students.
- To oversee and monitor whole department attendance data on a daily basis.
- To organise and arrange interventions with regards to attendance.
- To organise, attend and monitor home visits in order to promote high attendance and develop positive relations with parents.
- Provide a pastoral support service for students on a one-to-one and group basis to assist students experiencing barriers in their learning.
- To meet with external agencies to obtain support with difficult attendance issues.
- To address barriers to learning for a targeted group of individual students in order to enable them to achieve their full potential.
- To represent and promote the department both internal and external markets, including school, community and employer engagement.
- Good general education at NVQ Level 2 or equivalent, including Maths and English Grade C or above at Level 2.
- Have a good knowledge of attendance management strategies.
- Experience of working with disengaged / disadvantaged young people in an educational setting.
- Some knowledge of barriers to learning and ways to overcome them, particularly with disaffected young people
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good organisational and administrative skills.
- Able to work positively & effectively as a member of a team and on own initiative.
