An exciting opportunity has arisen for an efficient and committed person to join the Trust Wide & Cancer Team Research Department as a Senior Trial Adminstrator.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist and support research staff with accurate completion of trial paperwork.
- Ensure the timely submission of accurate and completed CRFs to the Trial Coordinating Offices and assist with data queries as necessary.
- To support local investigators with study set-up.
- To manage the Investigator Site File (ISF) for allocated studies
- To assist the study team in planning study visit logistics and ensure that studies have all necessary resources.
- Develop and manage administrative support including filing, typing, being the first point of call for participant telephone calls, ordering patient notes, retrieving patient test results via hospital IT systems and arranging meeting dates, times and venues as directed by management.
- To support study recruitment and volunteer management for assigned studies, this includes organising reimbursements for volunteers and assisting with volunteer queries throughout the study.
- Develop and manage databases and implement systems that improve volunteer management.

- Update the trials databases including EDGE with details of patients screened and recruited to trials/research.
- Act as first telephone contact for enquiries about trials/research and be confident to provide non-clinical advice to patients/clients/relatives as well as be able to respond to non-routine queries.
- Support the team in preparing documentation for monitoring visits including electronic ordering of medical records, arranging suitable meeting rooms and acting as a liaison when monitors are on-site.
- To perform study archiving
- To have an understanding that all research must be conducted according to ICH-GCP, the EU Directive on Good Clinical Practice and the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research and assist the team in upholding these.

Experience / Skills
- Significant relevant experience in a NHS/health-related role.
- Experience of dealing directly with patients or members of the public.
- Administrative experience
- Evidence of Good Clinical Practice training (ICH GCP)
- Advanced understanding of Microsoft (including Word and Excel)
- Attention to detail
- Good organisational skills
- Able to work autonomously or as part of a team
- Able to prioritise tasks and work to a deadline
- Clear verbal communication
- Experience of data management
- Ability to work under own initiative and independently without direct supervision.
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to work in a large busy open plan office.

The post holder will work in the Clinical Research Department team based at Southampton General Hospital. The University Hospitals Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is very research-active, with over 250 clinical trials currently recruiting. We support both commercial and non-commercial NIHR-adopted clinical trials within our dedicated department.
