The Newborn Care unit is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic person who are able to work as part of an already established team.

Applicants must be able to communicate effectively with members of the public as well as medical and nursing staff. They must have a pleasant telephone manner, good attention to detail, be reliable and efficient.

First point of contact for the SONeT transport team via the SONeT Hub. Coordinating the transfer of patients around the Thames Valley and Wessex Network.

First point of contact for visitors to the Newborn Care unit. Updating Electronic Patient record system (EPR) General telephone enquiries and face to face contact and provide clerical support to the nursing team.

The Newborn Care unit is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic member of staff to join the team of SONeT Hub controllers/Admissions Coodinators. The applicant must be able to work as part of an already established team. the post will involve being first point of contact for the SONet transport team via the SONet hub. Responsibilities will involve coordinating the transfer of patients around the Thames Valley and Wessex network, liaising with nursing and medical teams.

Other duties will involve clerical work to support the nursing staff on a day to day basis, which will involve admitting patients to the unit, updating the Trust computer system (EPR), answering the telephone and other general clerical duties required to assist the smooth running of the Newborn Care Unit and SONeT hub transport team.

Applicants must be able to communicate effectively with members of the public as well as medical and nursing staff and have a pleasant telephone manner. An outgoing personality and a tactful manner are important, as is the ability to work with speed and efficiency in this busy department.

6 or 12 hours posts are available that will enable the unit to be covered between the hours of 07.00-19.00 Monday to Friday
