Empowering Learning are working alongside a mainstream primary school in the Sherwood area (NG7) who are looking to appoint a teaching assistant to support a child in year 2 who presents with autism

The role is full time and will initially be on a fixed term contract. There is a potential this will become permanent for the right person.

**Duties Within The Role**:

- Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and educational activities
- Provide 1:1 support to a child with special educational needs
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other staff members
- Using a visual timetable to help the child understand what is coming next
- Assist with classroom management and behaviour management strategies
- Support students with special needs or individualised education plans (IEPs)
- Prepare materials and resources for lessons and activities
- Supervise students during break times & lunch time
- Assist with record-keeping and documentation as required

**What The School Are Looking For**:

- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred
- Knowledge of child development and particularly those with SEN
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student learning and development

**Salary**: £19,500.00-£20,540.00 per year
