Do you have experience in supporting pupils with special educational needs? Are you available to begin work straight away? Empowering Learning are working with a mainstream school based in Nottingham (NG3) who are looking to appoint a teaching assistant

The role will be Monday to Friday and the hours of work will be 08:30-16:00. The contract will begin as soon as possible.

The school are looking somebody to appoint who:

- Has previous experience of supporting SEN pupils
- Has at least one years' school based experience
- Holds a TA qualification or a relevant qualification
- Has experience in delivering at least one sport
- Can build good relationships with children who struggle to engage in class
- Has good communication skills to liaise with staff and pupils
- Can lead inspiring interventions to help engage pupils

The main duties within this role will be:

- Working on a 1:1 basis with pupils who present with autism and various SEND
- Providing general support within the classroom
- Running sports clubs at lunch and break times
- Supporting with the delivery of PE on selected days
- Leading academic interventions with children working below age expected levels
- Supporting pupils in and out of class who present with special educational needs
- Liaising with the school SENCO and the class teacher around the progress of pupils
- Providing pastoral support to children with social and emotional needs
- Working across KS2 with children struggling to manage their behaviour

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Temporary contract
Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: £19,500.00-£21,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Work Location: In person
