**About The Role**
**Location**: Hybrid role in Swindon - homebased with work out in the community.
**Contract**: This is a Fixed term contract for 24 Months.
We have an exciting opportunity for 2 Community Development Coordinators to work in Swindon alongside our current Dementia Advisers.
We are looking for someone to take the lead on the equality and diversity agenda.Ethnic minority groups are underdiagnosed, under-represented, and under supported in Swindon.This role will ensure that our dementia advice and support is accessible to seldomheard from groups, it will involve building trust and relationships within these communities and local community groups.
The project will run for 2 years and the aim is to: support people from an ethnic minority background to access a diagnosis, increase the awareness of dementia for ethnic minority groups, improve access to support groups, reduce health inequalities througheducation and relationships, and support in navigating through the dementia pathway.
**About you**
You will have a good understanding of dementia, the impact of dementia on people, (both those diagnosed and those caring) and experience in working with people with dementia in the community, especially seldom heard from groups.
We are looking for someone who has experience of working with the equalities and diversity agenda and who has the ability to lead on this. You will have experience of self-management and able to lone work, as well as good communication skills and ability towork in a team.
You will be able to plan work, manage time effectively and record observations accurately, this includes an ability to work effectively on your own.
