**About us**:

**About the role**:
The HR Assistant will take an active role to support the HR Department across a wide range of administrative and HR-related.

**Key tasks and responsibilities**:

- To ensure the administration paperwork for starters and leaver is completed/ managed on a weekly basis
- To work with managers on staff probations and issue the relevant paperwork and uniform if they are to pass. In addition, should the manager wish to fail/ extend an employee’s probation to highlight this to the HR team in plenty of time to ensure that meetings can be arranged in sufficient time (ideally with one week’s notice)
- To monitor and action the ‘HR Action Log’ on a twice daily basis which will ensure that the HR Department is responsive to all required HR tasks/ employment relation matters; this will be completed with the HR Assistant and HR Assistant Manager
- Conduct all necessary administration tasks associated with the recruitment and selection process i.e. organise and manage new starter inductions, check eligibility to work in the UK documentation, save relevant documents in the Scanned HR Documents Folder
- To ensure that weekly administration is saved on the HR Manager System and any destroy paper copies immediately (in line with GDPR legislation)
- To undertake monthly return to work paperwork checks with the HR Assistant and HR Assistant Manager

**Person specification**:

- Genuine interest in Human Resources
- Highest standard of written English and good proof-reading skills
- Ability to communicate clearly at all levels
- Approachable personality and positive nature
- Willingness to learn new skills and processes
- Excellent time management skills

**Working hours**:
Monday to Friday: 37.5 per week, 09:00am - 17:00pm

Must be flexible to work additional hours to meet the nature of the role and the needs of the business (including working at least one early shift once a month, as required).
