**Job summary**:
We have a new opportunity for a passionate and experienced Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (ED&I) professional to join an established HR Team with an appetite for change, to further develop and expand our ED&I influence across the Planning Inspectorate. As ED&I Officer you will report to the Head of Human Resources, collaborating across the business including our employee networks and Senior Leadership team to provide a joined
- up approach to ED&I.
The Planning Inspectorate has a long and proud history in ensuring a fair planning system for England. The work we do has a significant impact on people’s lives, the communities where they live and the economy.

**Job description**:

It's about effecting real change that will have a lasting impact on our people, our customers, and our communities.
The role will involve the development, monitoring and review of policies and strategies designed to ensure The Planning Inspectorate staff and stakeholders engage with ED&I legislation.
You'll need to show:

Relevant experience in Equality Diversity and Inclusion will be required for this role. Experience gained within local government, voluntary, faith and community sectors, or large organisations would be acceptable.
**Hybrid working**
All of our office-based roles are contractually located at Temple Quay House in Bristol. Most of our roles are able to work in a hybrid manner and you will be expected to attend Temple Quay House at least 12 days a year. Depending on your role, you may be required to attend more often than 12 days a year either permanently or temporarily to ensure we deliver our services in the most efficient and effective way for our customers. - Knowledge of Diversity and Inclusion good practice in a business environment.
- An understanding of the requirements of the Public Sector Equality Duty.
- Experience of giving advice to key stakeholders on ED&I.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience of cultural sensitivities and how they might impact business need.
