**Job Description**:
- Help guide/mentor young people on the school’s programme to make the right life choices - success on the programme is not always measured in qualification achievement
- Ensure the reputation of the school’s programme is maintained and the experiences gained by young people meet their needs and that of the relevant funding organisation.
- Provide additional support and guidance to young people struggling with barriers to progression.
- Ensure young people receive more than expected empathy and understanding on an ongoing basis with a need to ensure a high degree of patience is shown to youngsters from challenging backgrounds and those identified as disengaged from mainstream education.
- Keep updated on all current key stakeholders of Awarding Body (SQA, IMI & C&G) procedures and updates.
- Ensure learners experience guidance and support of high quality meeting their needs and that of the relevant funding organisation.
- Ensure portfolios and all documentation is available to Internal and External verifiers/auditors when required.
- Carry out qualification assessments to a high standard as per awarding body rules.
- Support other training team members working on the school’s programme when required.
- Carry out other duties within the Training Department as required, including updating of any data required for Management systems, Awarding body and funding organisation systems.
**Qualifications**:
- Hold or be willing to work towards relevant assessor award.
- Experience and relevant qualifications in Automotive occupational areas.
- Key Skills Level 2 standard of education or equivalent, with strong proficiency in English, Maths & ICT.
- Experience in Assessment processes preferred but not essential.
- Able to work to tight deadlines in the training centre and in some customer sites.
- Valid, clean driving license and willingness to travel to regional and customer sites.
- Good IT proficiency using software packages such as Microsoft Office.
