Post-cct Fellowship in Musculoskeletal and Trauma

A fixed term contract post is available for a Post-CCT Fellow in Musculoskeletal and Trauma Imaging in the Department of Radiology at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. The applicant should possess FRCR or equivalent and be able to start September 2023. This post is for a fixed term duration of 12 months. The Department is based on 3 sites in West London (Hammersmith Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital) and offers a wide exposure to all aspects of Musculoskeletal Imaging.
The goals and objectives of the Musculoskeletal and Trauma Radiology Fellowship program are to train the next generation of leaders in musculoskeletal and trauma imaging with an emphasis on clinical, teaching and research skills.
The Fellow will rotate through all modalities (MRI, ultrasound, interventional radiology, CT and radiographs) and may have allocated research time. In addition to the clinical exposure to routine and complex orthopaedic pathologies, there will be opportunity to develop academic and research skills in a multidisciplinary environment.
The fellow will be responsible for co-ordination of the MSK trainee rota and MSK teaching rota. They will be expected to lead teaching sessions for core and subspeciality MSK SpRs.
**The fellow will be expected to**:
1. work with the consultant and specialist registrars (SpRs) to fulfil the clinical obligations of the department,
2. participate in research projects,
3. Quality improvement and audit activity,
4. Participate in formal and informal teaching to SpRs, medical students and ancillary medical personnel.
**Clinical Commitment**: The fellow will initially be under the direct supervision of a consultant but will have a more autonomous role as he/she gains experience.
**On Call**: 1 weekday evening per week + 1 in 6 weekends. The successful applicant will be part of a fellow on-call rota, which supports the radiology SpR rota in reporting all acute/inpatient imaging. The post includes on-call supplement pay
