**Project Officer - Internships**

Student Futures, part of the Student Life Division of Cardiff University, is a fast-paced department working with University colleagues, students, and employers to provide a service that enhances student employability and improves graduate outcomes.
- An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Officer to source and manage opportunities for our Student Futures Work Experience programmes. This role will involve providing advice, guidance and support to employers, University staff, students, and graduates. The role involves working closely with internal Student Futures (Careers and Global Opportunities) teams, colleagues in Student Support & Wellbeing, Development and Alumni Relations, and in academic Schools.- The post is full time (35 hours per week) and open-ended.**Salary**: £28,762 to £33,314 per annum (Grade 5)**Cardiff University offers many excellent benefits, including 37 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), pro rata for part time staff, local pension scheme, a cycle to work scheme and other travel initiatives, annual increments up the pay scale, and more. **Key Duties**
- Provide professional advice and guidance on work experience processes and procedures to internal and external customers, using judgement and creativity to suggest the most appropriate course of action where appropriate, and ensuring complex and conceptual issues are understood
- Ensure that work experience is delivered to the institution, proactively changing the delivery according to customer requirements. Customers will include University students, academic staff and employers.
- Ensure the targets and objectives of the work experience programmes are achieved
- Establish working relationships with key contacts to help improve service levels, developing appropriate communication links with the University’s Colleges and outside bodies as required
- Undergo personal and professional development that is appropriate to and which will enhance performance
- Develop and deliver workshops highlighting the benefits of work experience
- Undertake a variety of administrative duties to support the department
- Instruct and guide other employees across the University on work experience programmes
- Collaborate with others in order to make recommendations for developments of established processes and procedures
- Investigate and analyse specific issues within Work Experience, creating recommendation reports, supported by advances within Work Experience
- Create specific working groups from colleagues across the University to achieve Student Futures objectives
- Supervise specific project teams on an occasional basis to accomplish key objectives

**Specific Duties**
- Deliver work experience opportunities with local employers and within the University, write and deliver workshops to promote work experience within Colleges
- Ensure all relevant checks are carried out such as health and safety inspections for all opportunities
- Offer a wide range of opportunities to meet students’ needs
- Work with admin support staff to ensure all relevant paperwork is completed, both online and in hard copy
- Market the work experience programmes to customers using a variety of media channels

**General Duties**
- Ensure that an understanding of the importance of confidentiality is applied when undertaking all duties
- Abide by University policies on Health and Safety and Equality and Diversity
- Perform other duties occasionally which are not included above, but which will be consistent with the role

Due to the nature of this role, some activities take place on a Saturday and as such the post holder will be required to work Saturdays and out of office hours on occasions.
