Clinical Photographer/trainee Clinical Photographer

As a Clinical Photographer, you will be providing a high-quality photographic service for one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the country, Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust. You will work as part of a progressive, collaborative team providing standardised clinical photographs for medical records, teaching and publication.
In addition, you will provide corporate and public relations photographs for the Trusts Communications Team that can appear on the Trust’s social media channels, the BBC, Oxford Mail and beyond.
The Trust comprises four hospitals - the John Radcliffe Hospital, Churchill Hospital and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Headington and the Horton General Hospital in Banbury. OMI primarily cover the John Radcliffe, Churchill and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre which are within walking distance of each other.
Clinical Photographers provide comprehensive, standardised high quality clinical photographs which form as part of patients’ medical records, (and with consent) teaching and publication.
Day to day, Clinical Photographers work either from a dedicated clinical photography studio, on the wards, in surgical theatre or outpatient clinics. No two days are the same.

Clinical Photographers at Oxford Medical Illustration also provide high quality public relation images for the Trusts communications team and external partners such as:

Staff Portraits

Recruitment campaigns
Stock imagery for the design team

A degree in a photography related field (a requirement for the Post Graduate Certificate)
An ability to demonstrate how you have previously worked with compassion and care within a work environment
Entry level knowledge and understanding of the role and skills required to be a successful Clinical Photographer through self-lead research
Examples of in depth computer literacy with a comprehensive knowledge of digital photography and image management software
Any experience in a Clinical Photography department or working with patients in an NHS setting or related field
