**About the role**

**Hours**: 37.5 hours per week, flexibility required around events to include evening and weekend working. Time in lieu is offered for working outside of normal working hours.

The Events Team is part of the ambitious Hospice Fundraising Team who have a reputation for delivering excellent events within our community, specifically the Sparkle Night Walk. This fast-paced team plan and deliver a varied calendar of events and also support fundraisers participating in externally organised events including the London Marathon, Great North Run, Skydives, etc.

This post, alongside another Events Fundraiser will take responsibility for managing some of the hospice led events whilst also promoting third party events focusing on enhancing event experience and increasing net contribution.

The Events Fundraiser will also manage and support an Events Assistant and work collaboratively with the wider hospice teams.

The main responsibilities include:

- Lead on the planning and delivery of the new Superhero Night Walk
- Support the planning of our biggest fundraising event, The Sparkle Night Walk and take on a leading role at the event
- Collect event feedback and produce detailed evaluations
- Create clear volunteer communication plans and event briefs, ensuring they feel valued with a focus on retention of new event volunteers
- Produce detailed risk assessments and event plans
- Work alongside the Marketing and Communications Team to create a plan and engaging materials and social media content
- Build relationships with suppliers and local businesses to source gifts in kind and sponsorship
- Support Hospice patients and their families by organising special events on the Inpatient Unit

**About you**:

- The post holder will be highly organised with an eye for detail and have proven experience planning and developing events desirably within the Charity Sector. They will be able to balance multiple projects and work collaboratively with wider teams and key stakeholders._

Skills and experience required:

- Level 3 qualification (A level or equivalent) or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to carry out the role
- Significant experience in an event planning role
- Time management and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Excellent relationship management skills
- Highly organised with an eye for attention to detail and accuracy
- Solutions driven to problem solve and adapt in unexpected circumstances
- Ability to work within a set budget, regularly monitoring to improve the net contribution of events
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- High level of literacy
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Ability to work well within a team and collaborate with wider departments
- Proactive, innovative and able to use own initiative to improve processes Excellent relationship management skills
- Significant proven success in events fundraising
- Experience growing income from Events
- Experience developing and managing supporter journeys
- Recruitment and management of volunteers
- Experience securing corporate sponsorship
- Clear understanding of social media platforms and digital marketing
- Ability to maintain accurate records and use a database
- Experience creating risk assessments and understanding event risks, with a responsible attitude towards health and safety at work
