About the role

**Hours**: Full time 37.5 hours per week, worked Monday to Friday.

The Fundraising Support Officer will be part of the Supporter Engagement Team (SET) within the Fundraising Department, and they will provide exceptional administration support to the wider Fundraising team, liaising with all teams to ensure donations (gifts) are processed, thanked and coded correctly on the Fundraising database (Raiser’s Edge). The Fundraising Support Officer will coordinate the processing of online donations including website donations, and online platforms such as Facebook and Just Giving, and will support the Events team in planning and implementing event registrations and supporter care.

This role requires excellent communication skills and a high level of emotional intelligence to provide supporter care to recently bereaved relatives when taking donations or answering telephone calls.

The role requires excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan, meet deadlines and make decisions independently.

**The main responsibilities include**:
Answering the telephone and speaking to supporters, answering queries, often of a delicate nature.

Provide administration support to the Fundraising team by printing certificates and any other duties required

Navigating online giving platforms such as Facebook Fundraising Tools, Go Fund Me, and downloading weekly income reports.

Use of the Donor Database System - Raiser's Edge - for processing donations, and producing weekly Finance reconciliation reports for the Finance team

**About you**:
We’re looking for a caring, self-motivated, confident person to join our Supporter Engagement Team here at Ashgate Hospice. The Fundraising Support Office will have excellent customer service, administration and communications skills, with the ability to respond quickly and empathetically to often sensitive, confidential queries from supporters.

**Skills & Experience Required**:
Excellent and accurate administrative, database and computer skills and working use of Microsoft Office products (particularly Word, Excel and Outlook)

Excellent and confident telephone manner

An understanding of social media platforms such as Facebook, Just Giving and navigating websites

Empathy and emotional intelligence

Comfortable working within a Hospice environment
