About the role

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week usually worked Monday to Friday however there will be a requirement for the postholder to work evenings and weekends as and when required depending on service needs.

The Community Relationship Fundraiser will be part of the Community Fundraising Team who are integral members of the Income Generation team, with responsibility for developing ‘face to face’ community fundraising in the North Derbyshire area.

You will work closely with colleagues across Income Generation and Volunteering to build new and existing relationships within the community that generate support through networking with existing supporters and growing the network of Community Fundraiser Volunteer Champions.

You will lead on the development of new community fundraising initiatives as well as ensuring groups and individuals across North Derbyshire feel confident and supported in organising their own fundraising activity.

Your mix of creativity, local knowledge and a commitment to put our supporters first will ensure fundraising income is maximised to continue to fund our essential services for people living with a life-limiting illness and their families across North Derbyshire.

The main responsibilities include:

- To develop and deliver plans for individual and group fundraising activities across North Derbyshire to meet the team’s overall income target alongside another two Community Relationship Fundraisers and Senior Corporate and Community Fundraiser.
- To recruit new fundraisers in the community to raise income for the Hospice
- To engage with supporters to develop their fundraising activities and meet their targets.
- To represent the Hospice at functions, fundraising events and cheque presentations when required
- To deliver talks and presentations to a variety of audiences
- To manage the administration of fundraising, ensuring comprehensive and accurate record keeping

- Ability to plan and prioritize own daily and weekly tasks
- Competent in the use of Microsoft office packages (work, excel, access, outlook)
- Ability to work well within a team and be self-motivated
- Proactive, innovative and able to use own initiative
- Tact and persuasion
- Good relationship management skills with an ability to research and analyse potential new supporters
- Good financial management skills
- Confidently and effectively communicate with a wide range of people
- Ability to think outside the box and maximise opportunities
