This is an exciting opportunity to start your career in the Health Care Sector as an Apprentice Business Administrator/Receptionist to provide support to the admin team and Practice Manager through efficient and effective provision of administration. Business Admin level 3 Apprenticeship training in the workplace provided by PMA Ltd.

**What will the apprentice be doing?**
- To support the successful operation of the Practice administration and reception department through efficient and effective provision of administration and, when needed, reception support
- To provide patients with efficient and accurate service, in a positive, polite and professional manner
- Provide administrative support to the Practice team
- Provide general office and clerical services for the Practice team, including photocopying, filing and scanning
- Assist in the upkeep of patient information, the Practice social media page and website
- Process correspondence, investigation results, clinic letters and other documents accurately and in line with GDPR guidelines
- Liaise with members of the public, suppliers, other Practices and other external stakeholders in a professional manner
- Other ad-hoc tasks that the Practice Manager deems necessary.
- Covering on reception as and when needed
- Answering calls in a timely and polite manner
- Working efficiency and competently within the team

**What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?**
- Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship training in the workplace provided by PMA Ltd
- You will be trained in-house on how to use EMIS software, to be able to book appointments for patients, access and update their medical records, manage tasks and documentation coming into the workflow
- You will receive mentoring on reception, to enable you to answer all telephone calls and face to face queries with confidence and current information
- You will take part in mandatory eLearning specific to your job role, online via BlueStream Academy

**What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?**
- To become an experienced NHS administrator/receptionist with opportunity to stay with the team and/or progress within the NHS

**Things to consider**

Your working week will change on a day to day basis, as no day will always be the same. Routine tasks will be shared among the admin team on duty throughout the day, including, but not limited to, checking the Practice inbox, incoming post and queries, contacting patients to book them in for follow-up checks, keeping supplies stocked up and being hands on as and when needed.
