**Senior Clinical Fellow - Spinal Surgery at Salford Royal**

This post is an exciting opportunity for senior trainees to benefit from Spinal Surgery (Orthopaedics) training and are open to both Orthopaedic and Neurosurgery trainees planning a career in Spinal Surgery. The post is for 6 months. The post-holder will spend 6 months in the Department of Spinal Surgery with possible extension.

Main duties of the job

The on-call commitment would be Spinal On-call.

The appointee will have responsibility for the care of patients whilst on duty or on-call, to
assist in the proper function of the service and to undertake administrative duties
associated with the care of patients whilst on-call and on duty

In addition to the clinical role, it is expected that you would also be involved in research, and contribute to ongoing clinical trials, with a view to publication and presentation at national and international meetings. It is also expected that you will have the opportunity to attend national and international spine courses.

**Qualifications**:
Essential criteria
- GMC Registration with a licence to practise
- MRCS (or equivalent)

Desirable criteria
- FRCS (Neuro Surg) or FRCS Orth) exam

Experience

Essential criteria
- Experience as a Neurosurgery or Spinal Orthopaedic Registrar

Desirable criteria
- Experience within the NHS
