**Clinical Responsibilities**: 1.1 Observe the Code of Conduct as laid down by the NMC.1.2 Competent in all aspects of immunisation including knowledge of the contraindications tospecific vaccines and the recognition and treatment of anaphylaxis.1.3 Perform robust health pre-assessments including but not exclusive to previous reactionsto vaccination, immunisation vaccination history.1.4 Address any concerns and ensure consent and clinical assessment is completed andrecorded within maternity records prior to vaccination.1.5 Escalate any concerns where necessary, to appropriate health care professional in orderto gain further advice and support.1.6 Assume responsibility for the safe custody and administration of drugs in accordance withthe Trust Policies and Statutory Rules and Regulations.1.7 Ensure correct syringes, needles and all other equipment pertaining to safe vaccination andphlebotomy is used.1.8 Ensure correct disposal of syringes and sharps as per the clinical waste policy.1.9 Ensure vaccines, stationery and health promotion resources are monitored appropriatelyand replacements requested through the line manager.1.10 Ensure that vaccine batch numbers are recorded under the correct patient, documented inthe hand held notes and the national database.1.11 Ensure the correct documentation is completed in relation to the provision of phlebotomywithin the antenatal screening services.1.12 Report complaints, incidents and accidents using the Trust DATIX system, escalating asrequired. Assist in the investigation and resolution.1.13 Maintain a vaccination log on the share drive, evidencing all service users that arevaccinated.1.14 Promote healthy living choices in relation to a safe pregnancy Participate in audit and facilitate service user feedback.1.16 Support the Screening and Antenatal Clinic teams in the efficient running and maintenanceof a safe Maternity service delivery. This will include undertaking supporting duties whenclinical needs of the service outweigh the responsibilities of their specialist role.1.17 Participate in clinical and other audits as required.1.18 Ensure concise, accurate, timely record keeping.
