Foster Carer

We are looking to expand our fostering family
Evergreen Foster Care is a highly specialised service that focuses on placing children from residential schools or children’s homes into intensively supported, foster care placements. The aim of Evergreen Foster Care is to provide placements for children who would not be able to access standard foster care, but could, if adequately supported, make the transition to a family environment.
As children coming out of residential care usually have a range of difficulties, only one foster child can be placed with a family at any one time. This ensures that progress is not complicated by the competing needs of equally complex/challenging children, and that the fostering family maintains stability.
We understand how difficult it is to foster children who have social, emotional and/or mental health difficulties, and who may also have aspects of autistic spectrum condition, so our full-time carers receive a generous package including, exceptional allowances, 65 days respite, 20 x group reflection sessions, 20 x 1:1 therapy sessions and much more.
**Full-Time Foster Carers**
We understand what a big responsibility is it to foster children, so our Foster Carers receive a professional package of:
- **Allowance of £38,584 per year allowance or £3,215 per month**:
- **Paid mileage**:
- **Additional birthday and Christmas allowance**:
- **24 hour dedicated support operated by people who know the child in your care**:
- **Regular comfort breaks**:
- **Paid Foster Talk memberships which provides independent advice, legal insurance, tax benefit and NI advice, 24/7 counselling services, max card discounts, free online events, financial advice and discounted tax return service.**:
- **Paid DBS and medical checks**:
- **Paid access to 130+ online fostering specific training courses**:
- **Fortnightly carer support sessions**:
- **Twice weekly drop-in sessions with a qualified therapist**:
- **Celebration and diversity events**:
- **Planned fortnightly 1:1 time with a qualified therapist**:
- **Telephone advice line**:
- **Group chat forum**:
- **A bespoke therapy package for either the whole family, the child or the carers individually**:
- **A comprehensive training and support package proven to be successful in children’s homes and schools (see Training, Supervision and Support section)**:
- **Access to over 50 years of professional experience**
**Part-Time Foster Carers**
Do you have regular, spare time over-and-above your current job?
Are you semi-retired and have spare time on your hands?
Have you always considered fostering but have not been in a position to commit full-time?
Have you been fearful of fostering and would like a stepping stone into the world of fostering?
Have you thought about how you and your family can enhance a child’s life and provide them with valuable opportunities?
Have you talked with your family about how you can support a foster child?
Do you have a spare room and feel you can offer a child who has had a difficult start in life, another opportunity?
Being a Part-Time Foster Carer for a child with Evergreen Foster Care is a well-paid, part-time professional role.
Our Carers are supported with an allowance of £8,500 per year or £129.80 per day (virtually tax free)
Children will join their Carer on a fortnightly basis on a Friday evening through to a Sunday evening. Children would also be offered an additional 10 days during school holidays.
We want you to build an exceptional relationship with a child, so ONE child will be matched to your family and every break will be planned in advance.
Our Comfort Break carers also receive a generous package which includes:
- **Allowances of £129.80 per day, £259.60 for the weekend**:
- **Paid mileage**:
- **Additional birthday and Christmas allowance**:
- **Paid Foster Talk memberships which provides independent advice, legal insurance, tax benefit and NI advice, 24/7 counselling services, max card discounts, free online events, financial advice and discounted tax return service.**:
