To provide a full range of reception, switchboard and administrative duties. To be the first point of contact for the public, visitors and service users when contacting Community Services, Steps to Recovery, AOT, HTT and Acute teams across the Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.

**Please note that the shift pattern for this role is**:
Week 1 - Saturday and Sunday from 15.00 to 22.00

Week 2 - Monday and Tuesday from 18.00 to 22.00, Friday from 17.00 to 22.00 and Saturday from 15.00 to 22.00.

Please ensure that you are compliant with working time directive hours before applying.

To provide an efficient and effective switchboard telecommunications service to the Community Services, S2R, AOT, HTT and Acute teams across the Trust within the areas of Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Trust as one of the first points of contact for the public, visitors and service users.

To staff the reception office and cover reception duties.

Responsible for the effective and efficient operation of an electronic ISDX Switchboard and processing external and internal calls in a courteous and efficient manner and to use initiative and understanding when dealing with callers who may be extremely distressed and/or verbally abusive. They may also be threatening but may still be given assistance and advice as required.

The postholder will be responsible for accessing the clinical information system (RiO) to look up patient information and any other relevant information as requested by the on-call staff and outside agencies.
