Due to changing needs of students and numbers, we are now looking to appoint a number of Child Support Assistants across school to join our enthusiastic and talented teams. Newman School is for pupils aged 2-19, including the Resource Centre (10-19), for identified children with a statement / EHCP of SEND and Complex needs. Experience of supporting children with complex SEN is an advantage. We are dedicated to providing the very best education for all our pupils and have high expectations for everyone in our school.

**Whiston - 2x Primary / EYFS based roles**:
31.75 hours per week, 9.10am - 3.55pm Monday to Friday, term-time only.

**Salary details for the above roles**:BAND C SP 4, actual salary £15,778 p.a.**

**Whiston - 4 x Additional Resource based roles**:
30.85 hours per week, 9am - 3.35pm Monday to Friday, term-time only.

Due to the needs of some of our pupils, two of these roles will involve supporting a Tutor delivering tuition in students’ homes.

**Salary details for the roles at the Additional Resource**:BAND D SP 5, actual salary £15,605 p.a.**

You will:

- Have a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and/or vulnerable adults
- Be able to set challenging and demanding expectations and promote self-esteem and independence
- Be able to use strategies, in liaison with the Teacher, to support pupils to achieve learning goals
- Attend to pupils’ personal needs and implement related personal programmes including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid and welfare matters
- Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to Child Protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person in accordance with policy
