**We’re hiring a dedicated and qualified Health & Safety Advisor to join our Facilities Team based from our Headquarters in Abingdon, Oxfordshire.**

This is a new role and will be responsible for creating a safe working environment, where a culture of best practice is followed, preventative measures are taken and full compliance is achieved. Our organisational structure in GB incorporates, warehouse & logistics, a fleet of field service technicians and group of retail stores; currently 8 growing to 10 this year. Across the stores there will be a responsibility to support and empower the local Store Managers to adhere to HSEQ and Facilities best practice and compliance activities in line with company polices and legal requirements.

**In your new role**

You’ll report into the Facilities Manager, you’ll be responsible for setting, delivery and evaluation of the HSEQ plan to contribute towards company vision, culture, strategy and objectives. Keeping the Miele employees and our customers at the heart of the decision making, you will drive best practice and compliance activities, including training needs, and ensure that Miele has a future proof approach to HSEQ.

You’ll need qualification in NEBOSH and IOSH, bring an understanding of multi site customer facing environments and be able to actively evaluate risks and minimise disruption in the business. If you hold any other related qualifications or certifications this would be a great advantage.

You will have the opportunity to define our ways of working as part of an ambitious team, and bring a human approach to the compliance standards. You will be experienced in accident investigation & management of RIDDOR, carrying out site inspections, audits, training and managing records and reporting. Within our learning culture we would seek to understand how you keep abreast of current working practices and legislation and seek external viewpoints

**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular health and safety audits and risk assessments.
- Provide health and safety training to employees and management.
- Investigate accidents or incidents to determine causes and prevent future occurrences.
- Stay up-to-date with current health and safety legislation.
- Advise on a range of specialist areas, e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances, and occupational diseases.
