Job Title: Associate Director

The Company stems from core expertise relating to resource management and land development sectors and is currently seeking an **Associate Director or Director (Ecology) **to join our team.

Supported by a strong team of dedicated professionals and an ever-increasing client base plus impressive work stream, all the ingredients are there for the right person to join the Company and lead and develop a successful team.

**Location**: Home-working and flexibility on location available, but preferably centrally-located.

The role will suit someone with strong ecology expertise, team mentoring, management and business development experience, commercial awareness and someone who is ready to lead and develop a key Company department. Full commercial, technical and management development support will be provided. The role will be partially fee-earning with department management, technical director, business development and commercial responsibilities.

- Minimum of 10 years applicable experience, especially involving ecological consultancy, protected species and development mitigation licences, EcIA, HRA etc.;
- Proven ability to produce and oversee concise, high quality, written report work to deadlines and budgets;
- Advising clients on technically complex proposals and representing them at regulator meetings etc.
- Leading, managing and developing a multidisciplinary team of ecological and related professionals and projects, including coordination of team workloads and sub-consultants;
- Leading of multi-disciplinary projects and department budgetary management;
- Business development and building client relationships;
- Preparation of winning fee proposals and tenders and responsibility for budgeting / invoicing;
- Understanding and leading compliance with legal Health and Safety requirements.
- Chartered or Full level membership of a relevant professional institution (e.g. CIEEM);
- Good IT literacy (MS Office at least); and
- Friendly, supportive, collaborative, innovative and practical ‘can do’ approach.

As the role requires working on projects around the UK, a full UK driving licence and ability and willingness to drive to project locations around the UK, sometimes with overnight stays, will be required.

**Salary**: £50,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
