FINANCE ASSISTANT

Job Brief

We are looking for a well-rounded individual with good accounting knowledge to support our small but busy finance department, across two successful businesses. The Finance Assistant will be responsible for day-to-day financial administration across the organisationand report into the Finance Manager. You will take the lead role in all accounts payable will regularly interface with internal staff and external customers. You will be required to work to strict deadlines and thrive under pressure and must have the abilityto plan your workload independently.

**Responsibilities**:

- Purchase ledger - record all invoices in excel, code and then post through to the accounts system.
- Raise and complete any queries with invoices.
- At the start of each month ensure we have all supplier invoices, reconciling the purchase ledger balance to the supplier statement.
- First point of contact for all purchase ledger queries for all companies
- Credit card expenses - send out all company credit card statement to holders. When received, adjust for VAT and check through to ensure they meet company guidelines. Post through to the accounting system.
- Collate all details for cash expenses and enter on the accounting system.
- Manage and reconcile the petty cash.
- Run weekly debtors report. Set up weekly direct debits for TSSL.
- Collect daily credit card payments and post through to the accounts system.
- Daily bank receipt entries for all companies
- Weekly bank reconciliations for all companies
- Maintain the purchase order system and improve where necessary.
- Run the sales ledge and ensure invoices are paid on time.
- Assist in reconciling stock on a monthly basis.
- Any ad-hoc duties as required.

Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Excellent knowledge of Excel.
- Knowledge of accounting software.
- Understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.

Remuneration & Benefits
- Initially 20 days holiday plus public holidays, increasing with service.
