The Green Dronfield is a purpose-built home providing care for up to 41 residents. Dronfield is a lovely old market town, situated close to the Pennines, just three miles from the Peak District National Park.

**Reports to**:Home Manager
**Job Overview**:(Note: In addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such duties as may reasonably be required)
- Prepare menus and agree them with the Service Users and manager, including preferences, special diets and foods as needed.
- Prepare and serve all meals, in a timely manner
**Working Hours**: 5 days over a 7-day period, as agreed with Home Manager.
**Role Specific Duties**:
- Make up duty rotas for catering staff, ensuring there are enough skilled staff on duty.
- Under the supervision of the manager, order enough levels of supplies for the catering operation from specified suppliers, using The Green Care Group procedures and maintain strict control over costs.
- Operate an efficient stock control system.
- Ensure equipment supplied is used with care, in accordance with suppliers’ instructions and training.
- Ensure all equipment is in good working order and report any faults immediately. If any machine is felt to be dangerous, withdraw it from service immediately.
- Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals they support.
- Accurate record of wastage.
- Monthly and Ad Hoc meetings with Home Manager to discuss performance, HR, stock, specials, ordering etc as well as Heads of Department meetings.
- Develop a quality assurance tool for Resident, Staff and Family feedback.
- Oversee Dining areas and other food preparation areas across both the homes.
- Ensure a 5-star experience for all Residents and their Families.
- Support Activities Coordinators in providing themed or celebratory entertainment for Residents and their Families.
**Working with Others**:
- Assist in the recruitment of staff.
- Induct new starters in accordance with The Green Care Group policy.
- Lead, motivate and direct staff.
- Under supervision of the manager, carry out annual staff appraisals for catering staff.
- Conduct staff supervision and personal development plans for catering staff.

- Ensure team adherence to group policies, including uniform, grooming etc.
**Person Specification**:
- RQF Diploma/City and Guilds/HNC in Cookery - Required
- Qualifications in textured modified food - Preferred
- Previous experience of working in a similar environment - Preferred
- Knowledge of textured, modified diets - Required
- Budgetary experience - Preferred
