Hourly rate: £15.06

Location: Combination of both home based and onsite working in Newcastle City Centre

**Experience of managing externally funded projects and/or project coordination skills would be highly desirable for this post.**

**Finance / Budget skills are also quite fundamental to this role, so being comfortable with spreadsheets and finance systems would be extremely advantageous as per the points in bold below.**

This new role will specifically support an exciting executive development scheme to support small and mid-size enterprises (SMEs) boost their business performance and growth potential.

You will proactively manage a portfolio of research and knowledge exchange grants and co-ordinate all activities relating to the successful delivery of those grants. Your main duties will include:
- Provide a first point of contact for the project team, providing expert advice and guidance on the project.
- Regularly attend project specific meetings to monitor participant attendance in preparation of invoicing.
- Reconcile documentation provided by the team to cohort schedules, **budgets** and actual delivery.
- **Prepare invoices and collate evidence according to contractual requirements as well as internal policies.**:

- Proactively resolve day-to-day issues or queries independently using judgement and experience, recommending changes to work processes and practices in response to changing circumstances to maintain the quality of service offered.
- **Running income and expenditure reports from the clients accounting systems, regularly reviewing project budgets with PI’s and discussing planned expenditure is compliant.**:

- **Ensuring all relevant expenditure is correctly recorded against project accounts and correct any miss-postings.**:

- Maintaining accurate, timely and auditable records for projects covering their entire lifecycle, including ensuring that timesheets are regularly completed and correspond to the cohort delivery schedule as well as external staff claims.
- Provide accurate and timely information to support the collation and submission of quarterly claims and meet any additional requirements for information from the funder.
- Liaising with all relevant internal stakeholders, for example, Finance, Legal Services, HR to ensure effective processes are in place to support the project.
- Lead on both internal and external audits.
- Work with the finance team to contribute to month end, year end and quarterly budgeting processes..
- Collate, review, format and publish project-related documents including reports required by funders and other stakeholders. Provide accurate and timely information to support reporting milestones as set by the funder.
