An exciting opportunity for the Associate Director for AHPs post has arisen for a registered AHP, recognised as one of the 14 allied health professionals.

You will be an integral part of the Trusts Senior Nursing, AHP & Quality team reporting directly to the Executive Director of Nursing, AHPs and Quality.

You will have the lead responsibility for AHP Governance, including quality, workforce capacity and capability, education, professional standards and regulation.

You will be a highly visible, proactive and compassionate clinical leader with a significant proven track record of AHP leadership and extensive knowledge of contemporary AHP drivers, policy and practice, across the Trust, ICS, regionally and nationally. You will ensure the sustained delivery of high standards of AHP services and have service user and carer Involvement.

You will provide senior professional leadership to the AHP workforce, this will include all matters regarding pre and post basic AHP education, representing the Trust on system wide ICS AHP leadership forums and having a full understanding of the major relevant local and national strategic issues. As the Trusts lead authority for AHPs you will provide the Director of Nursing, Midwifery and AHPs. The Board and Divisional Management Teams, accurate reports and advice aligned to national and local agendas relating to education, regulation, professional standards and accountability.

The Associate Director of AHPs is a key member of the Director of Nursing, Midwifery, and Allied health professionals (DoNMAHP) leadership team, representing AHPs at this level, providing strategic direction to the professions and the wider Trust acting as a role model, a point of contact and / or advice and expertise on professional issues relating to AHPs and demonstrating compassionate leadership and the values of the organisation.

The post holder is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction for Allied Health Professions (AHPs) across the organisation, system, and at a regional and national level.

The post holder is responsible for ensuring delivery of modern, effective, evidence based, outcome measured AHP service delivery with patient experience at the centre of decisions, in line with the trust values.

The Post-holder will be pivotal in identifying AHP workforce transformative potential, supporting innovation and new ways of working to meet current and future needs of our patients and delivering the next chapter of the AHP national strategy. They will be responsible for providing an advanced level of strategic thinking to the AHP services and wider Trust, being able to convert concepts into plans and communicate these effectively to a wide range of audiences.

The post holder will be responsible for showcasing the potential of AHPs and demonstrating the value of AHPs can bring to the organisation.

The post holder will be part of the decision-making body ensuring Trust decisions are inclusive of AHP’s views.

The Associate Director of Allied Health professionals is responsible for establishing and maintaining strong and effective partnerships and stakeholder relationships across local, regional and national networks. The post holder will work with AHP leaders across the integrated care system, specifically with the ICB and AHP council and faculty to ensure a system approach to developments/decisions.

Working in a highly collaborative way, resulting in organisational efficiencies, bringing together professions at all levels including links with regional and national professional bodies, responding to national professional issues, implementing and embedding new professional development initiatives relevant to individual professions and to AHPs as a professional group.
