NHS Professionals have exciting opportunities for a Pharmacist Specialist with experience within Paediatrics to support our client trusts. You will maintain key relationships with co-workers and other health care professionals across the Trust to ensure aneffective service.

The John Radcliffe Hospital (JR) is Oxfordshire's main accident and emergency site. The JR provides acute medical and surgical services including trauma, intensive care and cardiothoracic services. It is situated in Headington, about three miles east ofOxford city centre. It is the largest of the Trust's hospitals, covering around 66 acres.

The John Radcliffe site also houses many departments of Oxford University Medical School, is home to the George Pickering Education Centre and base for most medical students who are trained throughout the Trust.

**RESPONSIBLE FOR**:
Leading the paediatric/neonatal nutrition pharmacy team in conjunction with the paediatric pharmacy team lead by liaising with the wider team, including to inpatient and homecare patients.

Providing a ward clinical pharmacy service to an intensive care area within childrens and neonates and to be responsible for Home PN management, including commissioning agreements.

Managing a group of staff within the paediatric pharmacy team, e.g. to conduct appraisals and to manage sickness according to Trust policy.

Directing members of the team in an objective way, including audits and to promote and ensure the safe and effective use of medicines within the childrens directorate, in order to achieve high standards of medicines related aspects of patient care.

Providing a ward-based clinical pharmacy service according to Trust agreed standards including: Role will involve having a dedicated office workstation but the majority of ward rounds will be conducted in clinical areas such as wards and intensive care units.

Liaising with the rest of the members of the clinical pharmacy team, to support the strategic developments of the service e.g. electronic prescribing, improved discharge processes, accredited technician checking etc.

Experience of working in paediatric clinical pharmacy in a hospital environment essential.

Experience of paediatric/neonatal TPN provision desired.

Knowledge of working with Cerner millennium (desired).
