Sutton on Sea, United Kingdom National Trust Full time

Are you passionate about connecting people to nature through new creative and innovative ways?

We’re seeking someone who can connect people to the natural world by developing and delivering imaginative programming and on-site interpretation at our new coastal nature reserve at Sandilands **.**

**What it's like to work here:This vacancy is included in a trial of the ‘Disability Confident’ scheme (level 1).**

You’ll play a key part in the Sandilands Project, the first National Trust site on the Lincolnshire Coastline, as we begin to form a robust and unique visitor experience that inspires everyone. You’ll hit the ground running and will be supported by a small and friendly team which is eager to see Sandilands grow. Caring for our environment and climate is crucial. We want to engage the local community and establish the creation of opportunities for people to get involved at Sandilands and feel inspired to act. It’s an invitation to get closer to the heart of nature and we are working hard to make sure everyone is welcome to do this at Sandilands - including the people in our team.

You'll be working part time for three days a week. You may also be required to work occasional weekends and evenings.

What you'll be doing:You will work collaboratively with the Visitor Experience Workstream and property team to create and deliver a programme of activities. This will connect people to nature, boosting their wellbeing and inspiring them to look after nature, beauty and history. Some of these activities will be delivered by you & a team of volunteers, and others will be delivered by partner organisations who you’ll establish and nurture relationships with.

You’ll get to be hands-on with the development and testing of our programming and activity plan. You will lead delivery of the activity plan; researching, testing and evaluating in your first year on the job to help develop our understanding of what our audience wants. All this valuable work will then inform the creation and delivery of our very first visitor activity plan, in time for the official opening of Sandilands.

Alongside our Volunteer and Community Officer, you will help build partnerships that are mutually beneficial, strengthening our connections and broadening our horizons. You’ll look to create participation opportunities for both businesses and people as the project develops.

Who we're looking forWe'd love to hear from you, if you have:

- Experience of producing high-quality visitor programming and working with community or commercial partners to produce events and activities within the arts, culture or natural environment sectors
- Skills and experience in being a creative leader; skilled in innovating new ways to connect people with nature and place
- Experience of building, maintaining and developing partnership relationships to offer engagement opportunities to visitors, volunteers or local communities
- Strong people skills
- Experience of analysing audience data and helping to feedback findings that improve and develop a product, service or idea which connects people with art, culture, nature or the outdoors.

The packageThe National Trust has the motto ‘For everyone, for ever’ at its heart. We’re working hard to create an inclusive culture, where everyone feels they belong. It’s important that our people reflect and represent the diversity of the communities and audiences we serve. We welcome and value difference, so when we say we’re for everyone, we want everyone to be welcome in our teams too.
