Full time Post 36 hours per week Hybrid role
£208.41 - £270.00 per day
**About the Service**:
This is a specialist role that will be at the forefront of homelessness prevention. In this role you will work with those who are most excluded from mainstream services. You will work with vulnerable customers who require extensive and complex interventions to help resolve their situation.
**Information on the Role**:
- To provide an effective, customer-focused, and efficient service to rough sleepers; to support those at risk of rough sleeping and find housing solutions for those who are rough sleeping.
- To work closely with the Street Outreach Response Team and Community Safety to provide a rapid response to reports of rough sleeping or street-based activity in the Borough.
- Respond proactively to referrals from ‘No Second Night Out’.
- To be responsible for holding monthly ‘task and target’ meetings with the borough’s Outreach Team, Enforcement, Neighbourhood Teams, Single Homeless Services, Substance misuse, Mental Health Services, and all key partner agencies to respond to rough sleeping issues within the borough and suitable pathways to encourage rough sleepers to a life away from the street.
- To coordinate regular street outreach and hotspot counts within the borough.
- To be the SPOC (Single Point of Contact) for enquiries in relation to rough sleeping within Waltham Forest.
- To work closely with those found sleeping rough in the Borough and those engaged in street-based activity to help create and implement bespoke action plans to resolve their situation.
- To prioritise early intervention and create an environment for responding to customers issues as soon as possible.
- To coordinate rough sleeper partnership groups, to ensure effective multi-agency working.
- To develop a full range of information and publicity for rough sleepers as well as the updating of internal procedures
- To use your experience to contribute to the ongoing development and design of the service and housing pathways for rough sleepers.
**Essential Requirements**:
- A relevant degree or equivalent.
- Ability to manage caseload in an organised manner to deal with conflicting priorities to meet corporate and team targets
- Knowledge Of the Complex Needs And Problems That Confront Homeless People Especially of Those With History of Substance Abuse
- Good IT skills
- Excellent written and communication skills
- To be flexible and willing to work weekends and bank holidays.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
