Macmillan Urology Support Worker

To work closely with the Urology cancer clinical nurse specialists in supporting patients to navigate the early stages of suspected cancer, through to diagnosis, treatment and beyond.
To provide support and information in the outpatient and inpatient setting.
To performholistic needs assessments in the less complex patients.
To assist with the day to day running of the Macmillan Cancer Centre.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with Support worker, HCA or an administrative background to join our well-established Urology cancer team at St Georges.
We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual who will help to support patients with suspected cancer through to diagnosis, treatment and beyond.
This post requires an individual who is confident in working autonomously but also works well in a team. You are expected to work across sites
- (St Georges Hospital and Queen Mary’s Roehampton).

To assist the Urology Cancer CNS team in providing support and information to their patients, families and carers throughout the cancer journey.
The Macmillan Support Worker will be supporting individuals to navigate the complex health and social care system before, during and following the completion of cancer treatment.
The post holder will coordinate care by providing a single point of access, including rapid re-entry into the system for those identified as having urgent or specialist needs, and coordinate care, education, and support for people with non-complex care needs.
