**Job Purpose**

To assist in the make ready and running of a Cut & Crease machine and its associated ancillary equipment to their optimum efficiency. Working a shift pattern of 12 hours shifts, both day and night.

**Key Objectives**
- To develop individual skills, both on a technical, practical and interpersonal basis.
- To provide a continual and effective service within the department, fulfilling key tasks as required.
- To maximize efficiencies and quality and minimize waste
- To follow all quality systems and procedures within the department.
- To maintain good housekeeping in the area, whilst working to specific maintenance schedules and work practices within the department.
- To work effectively and efficiently as part of a cohesive team.

**Specific Responsibilities**
- Ensure compliance with all existing systems, standards and procedures within the specific work area to satisfy both company and customer requirements - including ISO quality, hygiene, health & safety and environmental standards.
- Assist in organizing the workplace to achieve high standards of housekeeping, and report any defects, hazards and/or issues to the relevant personnel immediately.
- Assisting in setting up the machine in line with best practice.
- Provide and remove all work to and from the cut and crease machine to enable continuous running.
- To run the pile turner
- Ensure high levels of cleanliness at met consistently.
- Assist in any reasonable way required that positively affects the performance of the cut and crease machine and the product produced.
- Carry out regular quality checks in the operator’s absence.
- Be prepared to undertake routine maintenance, mechanical adjustments and minor repairs to maintain the production plan, identifying more serious matters to the Manager so planned maintenance can be arranged.
- By flexible working within the department ensure that any breaks taken do not affect the continuous running of the machine.
- Ensure that any safety issues are addressed immediately and that the company’s Health and safety policy in not compromised.

**Skills**
- Computer literate (Excel)
- Ability to work under strict deadlines and targets
- Previous experience in the print industry is desirable
- Collating reports using monthly data.

**Interpersonal Skills**
- Excellent communication skills essential, ability to understand clear written and verbal instructions.
- Self-motivated
- Good understanding of procedures and processes.
- Highly responsible, reliable and flexible with a strong work ethic
- Quality and safety conscious
- Punctual, presentable and with good attendance
