Are you looking for an assistant psychologist role where you work alongside a team comprising both multi-professional and peer recovery expertise to offer clarity, hope and innovative approaches to services users often described as “complex”? Working into a service which prioritises psychologically informed approaches, collaboration, coproduction and integrated new ways of working?

Due to exciting service expansion, the opportunity is now available for two assistant psychologists (full time, 12 FTC) to join the Psychological Practitioners working to grow our new service, CREST (Community Rehabilitation Enhanced Support Team). CREST is a regional community mental health service, hosted by LYPFT on behalf of the West Yorkshire Integrated Care System (ICS). Established in 2021, the team comprises a full multi-professional and peer recovery workforce who deliver new ways of working for people placed out of area (OOA) to effectively be repatriated from inpatient settings and forge new lives nearer to home. The aim is to empower people to define, build and live meaningful, independent and satisfying lives outside of locked settings, often termed “complex rehabilitation”. Recurring feedback from evaluation with service users/families, providers and other stakeholders is that people working with the programme “feel included”, “clear on the plan” and appreciative of “commitment”, “transparency” and “coproduction”.

Co-working with people who hold lived experience is embedded in our service. As an assistant psychologist working alongside a growing team of psychological practitioners, a full MDT and peer recovery workforce, you would be supervised in contributing to direct and indirect clinical interventions, team formulations, reflective practice, consultancy and training to help develop a team-based and psychologically informed understanding of the service users’ needs. You would be supported by your supervisor, the consultant psychologist and clinical lead, as well as the wider leadership group to empower individuals and teams to increase knowledge, skills, and professional confidence in improving service user outcomes. You would expand your knowledge about Trust and region-wide ICS clinical and systemic practices. As it is a new and developing service, you would have the opportunity to take a role in aspects of service design and development, supporting the team deliver effective approaches utilising both best practice and cutting-edge innovation to deliver the highest quality care.

Flexible working hours can be discussed. As the role is regionwide, following an initial 3 month induction period, combined direct and remote working to optimise both clinical delivery and staff wellbeing can be negotiated in line with the needs of the service.
