An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced assistant psychologist to work within CONNECT: The West Yorkshire Adult Eating Disorder Service. The post will be split between the inpatient ward (0.5wte) and the community team (0.5wte). CONNECT is an award-winning service that offers a multi-disciplinary approach to early intervention, community and inpatient treatment for adults with an Eating Disorder.
The community team offers assessment and a range of evidence-based interventions to people with eating disorders, including group and individual psychological therapies. Service users who require more intensive treatment can be referred to our 14-bedded inpatient unit. Both teams aim to work using a formulation driven approach to support people to work towards recovery. We have an active service user involvement group and aim to include patient perspectives in all service-related developments. There is a good governance and leadership structure across the service.
Applications from people with BAME backgrounds are particularly welcome.
The main duties of the job will be supporting the psychological work in both the inpatient and community eating disorder teams. The post-holder will support the delivery of group and individual psychological interventions. They will support formulation, both at an individual and team level and will work directly with service users and families, and indirectly with colleagues. They will also have a role in helping to collect feedback and outcome measures from service users and families about their experience with our service. The post holder will be supervised closely by psychological professionals.
The Trust supports several assistant psychology posts which provides a rich internal network, including a monthly Aspiring Psychologist Forum. In addition, Leeds continues to be a diverse and exciting city to work in.

There are many benefits of working for LYPFT including fantastic employee wellbeing support, 27 - 33 days annual leave, flexible working and remote working arrangements, the NHS Pension Scheme, coaching, support and opportunities for career development and training and education support alongside a range of exclusive discounts and payment schemes including for cars, extra leave days and more NHS Discount Offers.
We also have an incredible bank department, offering variety of roles in nursing, allied health professions, healthcare support worker and administration clerical. Permanent employees are automatically added to bank.
Applicants should be aware that for any individual who requires a visa to work in the UK, the Trust provides sponsorship for registered healthcare practitioner roles only. This is an essential requirement of the role, and the Trust is unable to offer you a role if you are unable to meet Trust requirements for sponsorship and Home Office requirements for a visa.
