The role involves managing and developing our current services and helping develop SHIP services into more rural areas.

S.H.I.P. (Support Help and Integration in Perthshire) was established by parents in 1986 and provides support for children and young people in the Perth and Kinross community who have Additional Support Needs. S.H.I.P. delivers a range of services, including after school clubs, youth clubs and holiday activities, which are supported by a large number of dedicated volunteers and experienced staff members.

**Main Purpose**

The role of the Service Coordinator is to assist the Manager to oversee the day to day organisation and delivery of service.

**Key responsibilities**

The key responsibilities of this position are as follows:

- Be the lead practitioner reporting to the Care Inspectorate
- Oversee the provision of high-quality care and a comprehensive range of appropriate, stimulating and creative activities which meet the needs of the children and young people within all services (After school clubs, Youth clubs - Perth and Kinross, Saturday Clubs, sports groups and Holiday Clubs).
- Plan and co-ordinate Holiday Club activities and staffing. Ensure children and parents are consulted in the planning process. Ensure parent/carers have full information on their child’s activities throughout the day.

- Assist staff in planning their youth club groups to an appropriate standard and these plans are communicated to parents/carers. Children and parents/carers should be consulted on what they would like to do or where they would like to go.
- Monitor staff to ensure groups are meeting the needs of the children.
- Assist in setting, monitoring and evaluating targets for the children attending services.
- Assist in the monitoring and evaluating of outcomes for the charity.
- Respond to new service referrals and carry out home visits if required.
- Carry out school visits to develop specific child strategies.
- Comply and promote adherence to policies and procedures with legislative guidelines and Care Inspectorate requirements.
- Provide reports and any other relevant information required by the Care Inspectorate or any other relevant agency/service.
- Ensure health and safety regulations are complied with in relation to Care Inspectorate guidance.
- Follow up and report child protection concerns as appropriate.
- Record and report to the Manager with regard to the role and delivered services.
- Develop and maintain relevant databases e.g. child, parents, volunteers and registration.
- Assist in recruitment of staff and regular supervisions.
- Ensure staff are adequately maintaining attendance registers and financial records from services provided.
- Assist in the preparation of risk assessments.
- Ensure health and safety regulations are complied with in relation to Care Inspectorate guidance.
- Update social media.
- Ensure effective communication with all relevant individuals including the committee, management staff, support staff, parents / carers, volunteers and external agencies.
- Undertake any other duties that may arise or as may be delegated from time to time by the Committee or Manager as are appropriate to the role.
- Assist in reviewing policies and procedures.
- Assist in maintaining financial information.
- Assist in the expansion and development of services ensuring all regulations are complied with in relation to the Care Inspectorate.
- Supervise admin staff in conjunction with the Manager.
