We are looking for two highly motivated individuals to undertake the role of Public Rights of Way Officers within our Public Rights of Way Team. Under hybrid working arrangements with an office base in Chester, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the Public Rights of Way network within a designated area of, and across, the Borough.

The role requires a mix of desk-based work and independent fieldwork. You will operate in both a reactive way to deal with urgent path issues, and a planned way to deliver longer term improvements. The role involves liaising with landowners to encourage goodwill and compliance with the legislation, together with following enforcement policies when required. You will respond to enquiries and issues from the public, user groups, landowners and internal departments. You will identify solutions and instruct contractors and others to deliver what’s required to resolve issues, manage budgets, procure suppliers and oversee contractors to maintain and improve the network, in compliance with relevant legislation.
