The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a creative, experienced and skilled communications professional to take a lead on its digital platforms.
The postholder will create content for, and further develop, digital platforms including the Trust’s website, intranet and social media. The postholder will work closely with other communications team members on internal and external campaigns and seek to support the delivery of audience specific messages via effective and creative digital communications content.
The role is ideally suited to someone experienced in working with website CMS and someone who has previously been responsible for creating and delivering digital content for social media channels. Applicants should have a keen eye for design, be excellent content creators and count effective writing as part of their skillset. Experience of media relations, photography and videography would be beneficial to the role.
The role will work in an agile way and there will be a requirement to be on site in Chester several days a week.
- Support the delivery of digital communications, devising and developing creative content, scheduling and working with other team members to explore opportunities. This may involve sensitive and complex material.
- Produce high quality content for different audiences, channels and purposes. This may involve researching, writing and producing content.
- Act as an ambassador for digital communications, sharing understanding and insights into key audiences.
- Lead and manage the technical development of the Trust’s social media channels, ensuring that they are monitored and evaluated against objectives.
- Lead the development of the Trust’s presence on related NHS and feedback platforms.
- Plan and organise activities including photocalls, interviews with patients or staff, events or meetings.
- Develop insight into potential and existing digital audiences by designing and implementing surveys and other measures.
- Propose and develop innovative approaches to ensure that digital communication with key stakeholders is a two-way process.
- Use complex and at times sensitive information to develop appropriate communications content to motivate or influence key audiences.
- Manage the Trust’s public and internal websites acting as the overall editor of all content. Ensure the sites keep pace with new technologies and other emerging features of the digital landscape
The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust consists of a 600 bedded large District General Hospital, which provides its services on the Countess of Chester Health Park, and a 64 bedded Intermediate Care Service at Ellesmere Port Hospital.
The Trust provides services in all of the surgical and medical specialties common to a District General Hospital with some specialist services. The Trust serves the whole of the local population currently in excess of 250,000 residents which geographically covers populations in England and North Wales.
The Trust strives to continuously improve and sustain the quality of its services for patients, providing care to more than 445,000 patients per year, with almost 4,000 staff working together putting quality and patient safety, at the heart of everything we do. The organisation provides a wide range of services offering health care to the whole spectrum of the population from birth to the end of life.
