**Site Assistant - Luton**

**£11.49 per hour**

**Hours: 2 Days per week (Part time post 2 days per week Tuesday and Thursday 8.00-16.00 less 30-minute unpaid meal break)**

**Purpose**

To conduct the external and internal maintenance of the building, equipment, and grounds.

**Key Relationships**:

- This role carries no line management responsibilities.
- Responsible for working alongside and/or supporting volunteers within their team.
- The post holder is expected to interact with and direct contractors that visit the site.

**Qualifications required**:

- No formal qualifications required.
- PAT certificate or willing to undertake training.
- A valid driving license.
- Minibus driving training certificate or willing to undertake training if applicable.

**Experience, Skills and Ability**:

- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work closely with service users and communicate effectively with them.
- Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Able to work within policies and procedures.
- Skilled in a range of maintenance procedures
- Basic IT skills
- Basic numeracy skills

**Complexity and Accountability**:

- This post holds no budgetary responsibility but will be expected to ensure costs and expenditures are kept within agreed limits.
- Accountable to understand personal responsibilities in relation to the Health & Safety at Work legislation and demonstrate a working knowledge of COSHH requirements.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Carried out maintenance duties as and when required. This includes basic electrical, painting, plumbing, carpentry, and door adjustment repairs within the centre.
- Responsible to ensure workspaces are kept clean, clear, and free of obstruction.
- To take reasonable care of all items of equipment used to conduct tasks, including general cleanliness, and advising on faults and need for maintenance or replacement of same
- To conduct periodic inspections and checks and update the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) log.
- Responsible to receive and distribute deliveries and dispose of domestic and clinical waste safely and in line with local procedures and health & safety legislation.
- To occasionally drive a company vehicle for local journeys

Facilitating the safe and smooth running of the Service, the post holder is expected to maintain a safe working environment, maintain service user confidentiality, and occasionally taking on reasonable additional tasks.
