Maelor Foods Ltd are currently recruiting for a hardworking, enthusiastic and reliable individual to join the team as a **Part Time** **Payroll Assistant.**

The role of Payroll Assistant has an important role to play within our Payroll/Finance department. You will work as part of a team and support the Payroll Officer in the daily administrative duties of the payroll department for weekly paid employees at Maelor Foods Ltd.

**Duties and responsbilities**
- Collation of data and processing of weekly payrolls, to include sickness, absence, bonus/overtime payments, holidays and pensions
- Processing starters and leavers through payroll programme
- Processing and finalising holiday requests, complying with company procedures
- Responding to queries from employees and management
- Ensure payroll is processed in an accurate, compliant and timely manner
- Updating / checking tax codes
- Support all internal and external audits related to payroll
- Assisting with other ad-hoc duties when required.
- Covering other job roles within the team when staff members are absent due to holidays or sickness.
- Take responsibility for the filing of the department

**Skills and Experience**
- Previous knowledge and experience of using Sage.
- Previous payroll administrative experience.
- Excellent communication skills: ability to liaise with varying stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external.
- Professional approach and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
- Attention to detail
- Able to plan and prioritise own workload.
- Ability to form good working relationships with all staff and Managers.
- Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
- Reliable, flexible, adaptable, and committed.
- You will have an excellent understanding of the English language, both spoken and written.
- Commercial acumen and financially aware.

**Hours of work** - 25 hours per week, working Monday to Friday

Maelor Foods Ltd is the newly formed sister Company to privately owned Salisbury Poultry (Midlands) Ltd which has been established since 1989. During this time, Salisbury Poultry has gained an enviable reputation in the processing and deboning of chicken. Maelor Foods acquired a substantial site in Wrexham in 2014 and is an ultra-modern slaughtering facility using the most innovative technology and processes.

Maelor Foods sources its birds from local farms who comply to British Red Tractor guidelines, enabling it to provide premium "A" grade quality chickens. Maelor Foods allows for an integration of Salisbury Poultry's supply chain with the ability to offer the end user full farm to fork traceability ensuring total customer satisfaction.
