Job Description Summary

Responsible for the end to end delivery of a holistic product, project or service with the main goal of realising value for customers and stakeholders by ensuring that the lab and teams are working on solving the right problems. This is achieved by building collaborative, empowered teams, nurturing them to take ownership of the relevant outcomes. As well as stimulating innovation and mitigating risk by fostering data driven test and learn activities.

Chapter Lead - Some roles also include Chapter Lead accountabilities. A Chapter Lead is a role that blends both deep domain expertise with a passion for coaching and developing people. The main role of the Chapter Lead is to grow and develop the capabilities of their chapter members within their specific discipline, job family or role type.

LOCATION(S): Edinburgh

HOURS: Full-time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

The Lab sits in the Payments Services Platform where we provide compliant, efficient and innovative payments capabilities for the Group to enable customers to move money confidently, quickly and securely. The Payments Services Platform Lab Product Owner is a transformational leader who works closely with their peers and teams bringing high energy, passion and purpose to inspire empowered teams that are motivated to solve business problems and realise value to customers through excellence in execution.

The role will work alongside the Lab Engineering Lead in shaping the vision for the Lab, and as a result, centre on setting the strategic direction for the teams to deliver a complete product or service, with the main goal of realising value for customers and stakeholders.

As the Lab Product Owner, you’ll:
- Accountable for implementing the customer needs strategy for Payments that travel through SWIFT, while taking responsibility for delivering a strategy that achieves desired outcomes and exploring how industry changes will influence and challenge SWIFT Payments- Build a committed leadership team for the Lab and hold overall responsibility for growing the capabilities of a large or diverse workforce through investment in own and others’ training and development.- Take responsibility for fulfilling business plans for the Lab by effectively leading a large team.- Take overall responsibility for designing, developing, and delivering the strategic plan for product development for the Lab, through effective backlog prioritisation and stakeholder management.- As the product owner you'll work in collaboration with your peer group Engineering Community to drive and embed agile ways of working, and support the prioritisation of modern engineering practices to achieve long term business outcomes.- Monitor and supervise the activities of the Lab, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements by Collaborating with all internal risk management functions and supporting the LBG compliance policy.- Develop strategic solutions to long-term business needs by anticipating complex issues, challenges and opportunities.
