Therapy Assistant Practitioner

The successful applicants will work alongside an Occupational Therapist, ACP’s, Consultant nurse & Consultant and will be well supported within the Occupational Therapy service.
This is an exciting time to join us as you will be part of a team that continues to deliver excellent services for our patients. The service requires the post holder to have a passion for working with older people/ frailty and demonstrate compassion and understanding of the Occupational performance needs of the client group.
To work with a degree of autonomy and as part of a team manage a designated workload, maintaining appropriate records, within a scope of practice and accept accountability and responsibility for own actions.
To accept patients within a scope of practice and carry as own patient caseload.
To evaluate patient’s progress and use own judgement to make amendments to the treatment programme within their scope of practice.
To undertake administrative and some house-keeping duties to support the Therapy service.
The Therapy service at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust has a well-established team of over 220 Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy staff across four hospital sites. We provide a service to people in hospital or as an outpatient who are experiencing difficulties with occupational performance.
We assess people’s occupational need, taking into account their occupations, role, environment and lifestyle. We work in partnership with the person to agree priority areas for intervention which address problems with performing and managing occupations and also evaluation of progress towards goals. The focus of intervention is to promote individuals’ independence, choice, dignity and wellbeing whilst in hospital and upon their return to the community.
